Ombrè / Powder Brows - Permanent Makeup Treatment

Permanent makeup/ Ombre/Powder Brows is a form of tattooing. PMU pigments are implanted quite shallow in the dermal layer. You will need to first book in for a Consultation* and have a patch-test at least 24 hours prior to the treatment. You must be 18 years or older to receive any permanent makeup in the UK. Please bring a form of ID with you at consultation.

Unfortunately this is a contraindication for all permanent makeup treatments due to :
1) Insurance do not insure any therapists to treat someone that is pregnant.
2) During pregnancy hormones can be affect your skin.
3) Permanent makeup essentially creates small trauma so your body will need to move it's focus onto healing that trauma.

However, you are always welcome to come in for a consultation whilst pregnant to discuss options for when you are post birth.

1 Year Prior :
Do not use any Accutane or strong retinoids ahead of your session.

1 Month Prior:
Avoid Retin-A, Alpha Hydroxyls or Glycolics anywhere near the brow treatment area.
NO Botox or fillers 
NO Anti-Ageing or Anti-Acne products/treatments
NO Antibiotics*

Two Weeks Prior:
NO chemical peels, dermabrasion, laser treatment, or any other intense facial treatments.

One Week Prior:
Do Not tan or have any sun exposure. If you are burnt at the time of your session you will be rescheduled. 
Do Not wax, thread or tweeze the eyebrows.

24 - 48 Hours Prior: 
Do not take any blood thinners such as - Asprin, Niacin, Vitamin E, Fish Oil or Ibuprofen. 
Avoid exercise & working out.
Avoid Alcohol & caffeine. 

On the Day of Treatment:
Do Not do any form of exercise or working out. 
No Alcohol or caffeine (no exceptions)
Stay hydrated

At your consultation we will discuss your different colour options - what colours will suit you and what colours you can have. This is all based on your natural brow colour and your skin chemistry. We will also discuss the type of look you want to achieve and together create a custom blend. We ask you to come with your brows already done with makeup how you normally like to style them so we can see how you prefer. 

Immediately after the treatment, the colour will be dark and bold and during the first 4 weeks of the healing your new brows will go 30-40% darker but not to worry as this is normal and part of the process.

This depends on each individual client, but in general
following your treatment your new brow tattoo will appear much darker and bolder as it heals due to the oxidation in the surface layer of your skin.

You may experience some redness or swelling around the tattooed area, this typically disappears within 48 hours.

The first 24 Hours: 
As we would have used numbing cream during the treatment, when that starts to wear off and you can start to feel some tenderness and soreness. 

The treatment will create tiny wounds that provoke your body’s inflammatory response. This can result in your brows  producing lymphatic fluid. Always use a clean cotton pad and sterile water to dap off this fluid from your brows hourly after the treatment.

Your brows may look dark and a block of colour where you think the pigment could be too dark, you'll need to trust the process. 

The Next Day (s):
Around day 2, you should expect the swelling to have gone down. You will then notice the hue of the brows to fade slightly, this is only slightly and far away from the final result.
At this stage you can still feel the brows to be red and itchy, do not worry!

Please continue to follow aftercare and apply your cream as guided. Applying a thin layer to keep your brows hydrated without overdoing it is key!

Days 3 -5 :
The flaking stage will tend to start around Day 3/4, this is nothing to worry about and part of your healing process! 

During this stage, scabs will appear as the skin starts to recover from the needle-induced trauma. NEVER peel off or pick off the scabs! (no matter how tempted you may be) If you start to pick off the skin, it will result in patchiness and can also reopen wounds which will be susceptible to infections. ALWAYS let the scab/dry flakes to fall off naturally.

Stay consistent with brow hygiene and aftercare routine, let the scabs fall off on their own! 

Days 5+ :
Once the flaking stage has passed around day 5/6, the colour on your brows will now be appear patchier & lighter. This is because your skin is now forming new layers over the pigment which is lighter than the rest of the skin, this is normal and the colour will come back. 

Remember - Sometimes it might look like the pigment has “disappeared” before returning a couple of weeks later. This is very normal during the end of your healing process. This. is because the skin thickens as it heals and can briefly conceal the ink.

Weeks 2-4:
The worst part of the healing process is over, whilst you must not spend too much time in the sun and do excessive exercise (no sweat on the brows) you can do your normal routine and wear your make up again!

Weeks 6-8 :
The brows are now completely healed! It's time to book your top-up session, this is where any areas need touching up. A top-up session is included in the price and is mandatory to ensure perfect brows! 

We try our best to always accommodate our clients, but we cannot do PMU brows if you : 

- Pregnant
- Under 18 years old
- Currently using or have used Accutane or Retinoids within the past year
- Have a burned face
- Currently taking blood thinners
- Have Rosacea
- Are Diabetic
- Have allergies to PMU pigments or makeup
- Have active Eczema or Psoriasis
- Have active skin cancer
- Have experienced hyper-pigmentation
- Have undiagnosed rashes or blisters on the brow area
- Have transmittable blood conditions (Hepatitis, HIV, etc)
- Have had radiotherapy or chemotherapy within 6 weeks of the brow treatment
